Services and Opening Hours

Normal hours of opening are as follows:

Transition to Community Managed Library 

Armthorpe Library will be closed from Monday 28th July 2014 until Monday 4th August 2014. On the 4th August it will re-open as a Community Managed Library, fully supported by the Council with the full range of book stock and resources, but managed by the community on a day to day basis.

10am - 5pm
8.30am - 6pm
9am - 5pm
9.30am - 3pm

Lending Services:
Books; Paperbacks; Large Print Books; Adults and Children's DVD's; Spoken Word on Cassettes and CDs.

Other Services:
Story time; Books on Prescription; Reader's Groups; Photocopier; Fax; Meeting Room; Stamps for sale; Computers with
Internet access*, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, database and presentation software.

* Internet Access is available free of charge for the first two hours then is charged at a cost of £1.00 per hour or part thereafter. Guests are charged 50p for half an hour and £1.00 per hour or part thereafter (excluding under 16’s or exempt borrowers).

Call into Armthorpe library to discuss issues which affect you in your neighbourhood. The libraries provide you with a face-to-face, one stop shop for Council services in a welcoming and friendly environment. While you are there, why not take advantage of the library's extensive services.

    Loans of books (including large print), DVDs and talking books 
    Parks and Play Equipment 
    Pest Control 
    Photocopying, Fax, Scanning facilities  
    Public Toilets 
    Readers' Groups 
    Recycling, Household Waste Recycling Centre permits
    Reference Information 
    Sale of Gypsy and Traveller site electric cards
    Street cleansing 
    Talks and events
    Waste Collection service

A room is available where you will be able to discuss your business in private. If you run a community group or other organisation, why not book our meeting room so that your group can meet or access more advice at this centre.

We provide a display area with leaflets and posters to enable you to access information yourself.
