The theme for the 2017 Summer Reading Challenge is Animal Agents, illustrated by the UK’s best-selling children’s illustrator Tony Ross.
You will be able to pick up your starter pack from any Doncaster Library from Saturday 15 July and you will have until Saturday September 9 to complete the challenge. To complete the challenge you need to visit one of our libraries three times over the summer holidays and when you borrow some books you will be able to fill in your starter pack booklet by telling us what books you have been reading. On each of the three visits you will receive stickers to add to your starter pack, and watch out, some of the stickers have mysterious smells. On completing the challenge you will be able to collect a nice shiny medal and receive a certificate. It would be brilliant if you could try to read six books over the summer, because it will help improve your reading skills and give you lots of books to tell us about.
Dates of activities that will be going on in all of our children’s libraries over the Summer are below.
Keep an eye on the Summer Reading Challenge website https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/ where you can get some inspiration for new books to read, enter competitions and even play games!
