Why not see what you think of the books that have been selected as the best of the year? Read them yourself and see if you agree with the judges. The link below takes you to our prize winning book page.
You can now have up to twenty eBooks and eAudio Books that can be downloaded for free at any one time from the Digital Library.
Titles can be loaned for up to three weeks after which they will automatically return themselves so there is no risk of incurring late fees!
The digital library includes titles from best-selling authors such as Lee Child, Julian Barnes, Pat Barker, Nick Hornby, Roald Dahl as well as the popular Dr Who audiobooks.
There is a growing selection of children's titles amongst the collection.
Using the digital library is easy, all you need is internet access and a library card then log onto the digital library site, browse the available titles adding your selections to your cart then at checkout click ‘download'.
Once you have downloaded your selection you can then transfer to a variety of mobile devices such as Android phones, tablets, iPads and e-Readers.
You can also download and stream music tracks that are yours to keep from the music download service Freegal.
If you're too busy to read, why not try listening to a tape or CD from the library's audiobook collection? Talking books are available to borrow at a small charge from your local library or download them for free on our Digital Library, so you can listen "on the go" at home or in the car.

You can use the online library catalogue to check whether a book is in the library, any title in our stock can be requested, a fee of 20p applies to adult members.

Book Marketing Society
Sine FM 102.6 is the ONLY locally owned licensed radio station in Doncaster. With more than 60 volunteers presenting their own shows each week, Sine FM is a valuable community platform representing a diverse range of local talent. Sheila North's monthly ‘Book It' programme highlights many writers from the area and includes regular opportunities for them to gain recognition for their work. The Doncaster Book Award's fairly and squarely puts the young people of Doncaster in the driving seat when choosing what books they want to be contained and eventually win this award.
The award promotes much debate, social interaction, lasting friendships and a genuine sense of community whilst promoting reading for pleasure and the importance of literacy.
