Central Library - reopening

Central Library is now open for returns and book collections ONLY. There will be no building access or PC access. A new Order & Collect service is now available with books available to collect from Central LIbrary only. Please check our new opening times before you visit.

Online services
(ebooks, e-audiobooks, magazines, newspapers and comics) are still operating.

We are busy planning for a phased re-opening of branch libraries to ensure we keep customers and staff safe

Introduction to the 
Central Library

The Central Library has now re-opened but on reduced hours. There will be no building access to the public but we will be open for returns and collections. Use our new Order & Collect service to reserve books.

There will be no access to the building for browsing and no PC access.

The Central Children's Library has now moved on to floor 1 of the main Central Library.

   - 24hr access to our online resources including eBooks, Audiobooks, Music, Magazines and Newspapers 

   - Newspapers are now available online and are free to access for library members


Ordnance Survey mapping for planning applications and building regulations

The Central Library is now able to provide ordnance survey mapping for customers applying for planning permission. The maps can be supplied as either paper prints or electronically as a PDF. We are able to offer a range of scales in both site plans and location mapping.  Prices are competitive and customers will have peace of mind that they have an up to date map with the correct licensing. 

Mapping is available for any location in England, Scotland, and Wales.
VAT is charged at the current rate on data purchases. Paper mapping is VAT free. For more information see the document attached to this page.

A Guide for Library Members

Services for Visually Impaired People

We provide a free confidential transcription service.  Printed documents are transcribed into an accessible format:  Braille, audio or large print.

Braille or large print greetings can be produced to attach to Christmas and greetings cards for visually impaired family and friends.

Large print and talking books in cassette, CD and MP3 are available to borrow free of charge from all Doncaster libraries. eAudio & eBooks books can also be downloaded from our digital libraries.
