Doncaster 1914 -18 is a First World War centenary project, run by Doncaster Heritage Services and supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project encourages Doncaster people and those with connections to the area to research and share their own stories from the First World War.
A series of events, exhibitions and a new website will explore the role of the borough, its people, and the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry in the conflict, both at home and on the front line. The project will also include family history workshops, a community archaeological dig and activities with local schools.
Our brand new interactive website will launch in summer 2015. Here you’ll be able to search our First World War collection online, and share your own photographs, stories and artefacts. Until then, you can view our events and volunteering opportunities on our current website, and via social media:
