The Booker Prize - Events
Major Booker Prize literary awards link-up for Doncaster
Doncaster has been named as The Booker Prize for Fiction’s partner for its regional events in 2020. Our partnership with Doncaster Creates, the dynamic arts programme set up to nurture creativity in the town, will see a series of literary events taking place over the next few months, including a search for a local writing talent.
We are certain this partnership will bring positive and lasting legacy for book lovers and writers alike.

Doncaster: The Books That Made Us
Are you from the Doncaster area? Do you want a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of the prestigious Booker Prize and be in with the chance to win a copy of one of the shortlisted novels? Join our online conversation ‘The Books That Made Us’. Share with us a book that’s affected you - maybe it made you laugh as a child or think as an adult?

Doncaster Hosts Booker Prize: 'In Conversation',
Friday 13 November, 7.00pm - 8.15pm, Facebook Live via Doncaster Creates
Join South Yorkshire poet Helen Mort for a livestreamed ‘In Conversation’ with the six authors shortlisted for the prestigious The Booker Prize this year. Hosted by Doncaster Creates at 7.00pm on Friday 13 November, the six shortlisted authors will discuss their work and answer audience questions before the winner is announced. Doncaster Hosts Booker Prize: 'Open Mic',
Thursday 26 November, 7.00pm - 8.30pm, Facebook Live via Doncaster Creates
Celebrate local talent with Doncaster Creates’ Open Mic! In partnership with The Booker Prize, Doncaster writers will read passages from their work alongside Fiona Mozley and Lemn Sissay MBE in front of a local and international audience on Thursday 26 November at 7.00pm. Sign up to the event.
