Her first book was entitled Heroines of the Medieval World and, sticking to the theme of women in history, she will be discussing her latest book, Silk & the Sword: Women of the Norman Conquest.

You Missed a Great Event! You Missed a Great Event!

Here's some feedback from the Sarah Dunnakey Author Event -

very Interesting and enlightening

Another great morning! Very interesting Many aspects of her writing – research – books to come!

Very Interesting talk. Lots of insight into how she came to write the book

Really enjoyable, insightful, interesting. Looking forward to her second book

There’s been a murder and it’s a mystery!

Our Central Library hosted a Murder Mystery Night performed by the Literacy Team on Tuesday 10th July. .It drew an audience of over 30 budding detectives who listened very carefully as the suspects read out their statements (only once) and were then grilled to determine who had the motive and the means to carry out the dirty deed. We had lots of lovely comments, like the ones quoted below. Also, Ann Cleeves, the author of the scripts and the popular Shetland and Vera crime novels now televised, liked and re-tweeted our tweet about the evening.

“Hello To Everyone, Thank to all involved in last night’s mystery evening. We enjoyed it even though we failed to solve who did it!!! Thanks for all the hard work, enjoy the sun while it lasts.”

“A fun evening. Thank you”
