Doncaster 1914-18 Website Launched!

We are excited to announce the launch of the new Doncaster 1914-18 website, which is now live at*

The new website allows you to search through the details of thousands of local people, browse Doncaster Heritage Services First World War collections, and explore interactive maps, timelines, upcoming events, original photographs and a mass of background material to help you investigate Doncaster’s First World War.

Most excitingly, we’re encouraging all Doncaster residents, and those with connections to the area, or to the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, to share their First World War stories and photographs from home, and help build a new online community archive.  If anyone else has a connection to your story, they can add a comment and help you to find out more about your family's past. You can also tag any relevant places, to create a map of your ancestor’s life, and easily share everything to share their own First World War stories via the website. You can now create your own webpage on the site, to create a map of your ancestor’s life, and easily share everything with family and friends.

*Note, you may need to update your browser in order to view the website, if you are using internet explorer 10 or below.
