Draw a Fairy Tale Character Competition Winners

Doncaster Libraries, in partnership with Cast, invited children from Doncaster to enter our competition to ‘Draw a Fairy Tale Character’. The theme of the competition came from Cast’s half term Children’s Festival, which included The King of Tiny Things by Jeanne Willis and this year’s pantomime, the classic fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty.

Children were asked to step inside a Fairy Tale book and create their very own character! It could have been based on a well-known one, like Sleeping Beauty or The Big Bad Wolf, or they could think of something completely new.

By the closing date we’d received an amazing 114 entries! Jill from the Literacy Team and Jenny from Cast had the hard job of choosing winners from the creative and imaginative drawings that were sent in.

After much deliberation they picked Ella Newman's drawing as 1st prize and Dylan Guest's as 2nd prize. Ethan Credland was awarded a special prize. The winning drawings are below:
