War and Peace: Cusworth Hall 15 May, 6.30pm and Cast Theatre 5 June, 7.45pm
On Wednesday 15th May Cusworth Hall is hosting the premiere performance of War & Peace, an evening of storytelling and song, featuring tales of love, loyalty and loss from the First World War.
Three of the UK’s top folk singer-songwriters have been so inspired by Doncaster’s real-life First World War stories that they’re putting them centre-stage in a national War & Peace tour. To launch the tour, there will be a special performance at Cusworth Hall on 15 May – a Museums at Night showcase – featuring specially-designed projections by artist Wayne Sables.
100 years since Doncaster celebrated peace, we remember those who fought, those who refused to fight and those left behind. Internationally renowned singer-songwriters Findlay Napier, Greg Russell and Bella Hardy present an intimate evening of storytelling and song, inspired by stories from the Doncaster 1914-18 project, Doncaster Museum, Archives, and Local Studies.
We’d love to see you there! Tickets are £10 and can be bought in person or over the phone from Cusworth Hall: 01302 782342 and via Eventbrite where a small booking fee applies: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/war-peace-an-evening-of-storytelling-and-song-tickets-61100252500
