What a busy year for Doncaster Libraries!
From the launch of our Shared Reading groups to the many Coffee Mornings raising money for some amazing causes inc, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Bluebell Wood Hospice.
We celebrated National Storytelling Week, World Book Day and the Summer Reading Challenge to name just a few!
We had author visits including Poet Joseph Coelho who is running a Library Marathon, visiting 209 around the UK in the process and joining up at each one!
Refurbishment work took place at a few of our community libraries.
There were activities galore to celebrate books and reading alongside Chinese New Year, Easter and Halloween (again to name just a few!).
Conisbrough Community Library was awarded a National Lottery Grant of £10,000, to be used for training up the 'older' person in Information Technology.
We held our first Lego Coding Sessions which have been very popular, along with our Central Library CoderDojo Doncaster sessions.
And Warmsworth Community won a Doncaster in Bloom 2019 award in the Community category!!
This is just the tip of the iceberg, there was too much to mention here! We can’t wait to see what 2020 brings, especially with the opening of the new Central Library in August 2020!!!
A big thank you to all our staff, volunteers and of course our lovely customers for their amazing support this year!
