Reviews:
Camberley Library Morning Reading Group. A rather ridiculous fairy story. A sort-of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ for post WWII. Written in the form of a journal, the author’s character Cassandra, is, as expected, well-drawn. But all other characters were very pale in comparison, and rather odd. The story progressed really slowly for the first 250 pages, but had some beautifully descriptive writing at times. Cassandra’s love of nature & the Castle is clearly genuine. The plot raced through at the end, and was completely absurd. Perhaps a YA book for teenage romantic girls? Certainly not a book to recommend for an Adult reading group. We scored it 5/10
